We are not doing away with the old traditions!! Your children can also show their teachers how much they appreciate them by bringing any of the following (or, of course, any of your own ideas!):
Flowers
Sweet Treats
Hand Made Cards

Small tokens make teachers feel special, and they are welcome ALL WEEK.
If you can’t bring a dish, this is a great way to participate.

Hosted by Audubon PTO

Please be reminded of the Book Fair going on at both campuses this week.

The Scholastic Book Fair will be held April 11-15 at both campuses.  We will have books in English and French available for sale.

For the Broadway campus, students will have time to shop during school hours.  1st-3rd grade students will have designated times to shop with their class on Monday and Thursday.  PreK-K students may shop with their class on Tuesday and Friday. You may want to advise your child’s teacher if you are sending your child with cash to spend at the fair.

We also will have shopping times for parents at the Broadway campus.  On Tuesday, April 12 we will have Donuts with Dad before school from 7:15am-8:15am.  On Wednesday, April 13 we will have extended shopping hours after early dismissal from 2:45pm-4:00pm.  And on Thursday, April 14th we will have Muffins with Mom before school from 7:15am-8:15am. Students must be accompanied by an adult for these special events.

Hope to see you at the fair!

Audubon Charter School sent 16 students to the tournament at Tulane on Saturday, 9 April.

Of 12 participating schools, Audubon won fifth place.
Our six teams won 17 of their 31 rounds.

Of 32 participating teams, Audubon had three in the top 20.
14th Colette A, Lillian C, Michael Z
7th Kirsten J, Nyela J, Jaylon L
3rd  Anisha M, Haydn P, Emma P

Of 92 speakers, Audubon had three in the top 10.
7th Haydn P
6th Anisha M
4th Emma P

Because the top two teams were from the same school, the third place team competed in the championship round against the first place team.  And they won!  Congratulations to Anisha, Haydn, and Emma on winning first place in the Regional Championship tournament!

There will be three more Regional Championship Tournaments in other parts of the country.  Our champions will be notified of the date and location of the National Finals.

We wish to thank all our wonderful, supportive debate parents.  We also wish to give special thanks to Mr. Justin Zitler for his help in preparing our students for this special tournament.
