In Case You Missed the PTO Meeting last week, here is a quick catch up:

  • Fall Fete was a big success allowing us to double our profit from last year.  The two most profitable attractions were the Dunking Booth and the Snowballs.  Special thanks to all of the teachers who participated as well as the Hanson family for providing the snowballs.  We are already looking forward to Fall Fete next year to be held at the same location tentatively on October 22nd.
  • If you ordered Square Art, we expect your orders to arrive next week, when the kids return from Thanksgiving break
  • The Administration is currently looking into several different Arts Reach programs to participate in.  The different activities varies at each campus.  Specific offerings will be announced some time before Christmas break.  Some activities that we are hoping to have are HOPE Stone, Guitar, Karate, Soccer, Chess, Run for Fun, Jewelry Making, Young Rembrandt’s, Vamanos NOLA, Academic Games, Debate, and Homework Assistance.

Please note, that not all offerings will be available at both campuses. Also note that if there aren’t at least 10 participants in a program, it may result in the program not being offered

  • We did have passionate parents who will be looking into other extra curricular programs for our kids more tailored to the Arts and Creativity of kids.  Hopefully, we will be able to expand the list of offerings.
  • The Rarebird Yahoo Group is not part of the PTO but a way that parents can share information with each other.  This is a monitored group.  To subscribe, send an email to rarebird-subscribe@yahoogroups.com with a brief explanation of what your relationship is to the school (parent of, teacher, admin, etc.).  The Rarebird group can also be found via Yahoo groups.  Simply subscribe following the instructions on the website.

  • TREE is currently looking for volunteers to assist with the nights out in the woods.  The purpose of this program is to get your kids outdoors to learn what it is like to camp out and live on the land.  You do not have to have a child enrolled in the program to volunteer.  For more information, please email ACS Communications at communications@audubonpto.org.
  • The results are in from Elections were held for FAME Board and open PTO positions.                                                JoLynn King was elected as the Montessori FAME Board Rep, Greg Thompson is the French FAME Board Rep, and Andrea Dupree is the Co-Communication Chair.  Thanks for your service.
  • The PTO is still looking for a Fundraising Chairperson who will be responsible for to help organize gear sales, and help with restaurant nights.  It does NOT  take a lot of time.  We just need someone organized who can keep track of upcoming events, and recruit 1 or 2 people to sell gear from time to time.  For restaurant nights, they would be in charge of getting the word out to the Audubon community.  If you would like to volunteer for the position, please email Mandy at president@audubonpto.org.
  • Please make sure Audubon Charter has your most up to date contact information including email and phone number.  If you currently do not receive the phone call blast letting you know of important events or emergency situations, please visit the Audubon Charter School website to download the form necessary to update your information.  The form needs to be dropped off in the office at either campus.

We look forward to seeing you at the next PTO Meeting.  If you have any questions or concerns, please email communications@audubonpto.org.

Schoola Clothing Drive – LAST DAY IS TOMORROW

TOMORROW is the last day to turn your clothes AND turn it into cash for Audubon at the same time.

Once again this year, ACS is participating in a Schoola Clothing Drive (schoola.com). This year, the money raised will support our Academic Games team. Simply by cleaning out your closet and donating gently used clothing, handbags and shoes for women and children, you can help!

Bag up all of your gently used donations and bring them to Audubon the week of December 7-11. Just drop off items at the following designated stations.

Broadway Campus: 2nd Floor hallway by Library

Milan Campus: 1st Floor Entryway

We will then ship these items to the Schoola team to be sold on their website.

Audubon receives 40% of the profit!

Look for a flyer to come home with your child the week of November 30th, as well as a sticker to include on the bag of donations.

Any questions contact Kathy Cannata (Katharine_cannata@auduboncharter.com).

Thanks for your support!
