FieldDayA message from Coach Stacy:

Field Day at the Gentilly Campus is coming!  Audubon Charter School Olympic Games will take place at Pratt Park on May 18th and 19th, and we need many volunteers to help this succeed.  If you are available to help run an event on one or both of these days, please email Coach Stacy at stacy_cantrell@auduboncharter.com. The Olympic Games will consist of 10 stations and we would like to have two adults at each station to ensure everything runs smoothly.  Come on out and enjoy the sunshine and a sno-ball!

Thanks, Coach Stacy

ACS Debate Team Brings Home the Trophy

Audubon Charter’s Debate Teams have been very successful in the local tournaments in the New Orleans area as we read in the past issues. On Saturday April 18 the most successful team with Nina B, Solange B, and Lexi Z went to New York to compete in the national tournament accompanied by Mme Alice and came home with the trophy for the 1st place in the Crescent City Debate League. It was so big that they had to take it apart for the trip!

This year they debated topics such as “should the state spend money on levees or wetlands” and “should physical education be mandatory in schools.” Each tournament includes 4 rounds with both public interest and education oriented topics and this is deffinitely a “spectator sport!”

Thank you to Ms. Pam and Mr. Matthew for coaching this and all the successful Audubon teams this year, so please contact them if you are interested tin joining next year.
