soireeThe 2015 Audubon Charter School Soirée will be held on March 21st at the Mid-City Theatre.  If you haven’t been to this annual fundraiser before, you’ve been missing out.  There will be delicious food, drinks, and an abundance of silent auction items.  The evening cannot take place without a dedicated team of volunteers who plan the event as well as those who assist with the set up and tear down.  This year there is a call for volunteers to help with moving approximately 30 chairs and 4 sofas before the event and right after.  The times are listed below:
Set up: Saturday, March 21, 2:30 PM
Teardown: Saturday, March 21, 11 PM (we can’t do this on Sunday because the theater has an event in the morning)
If you are able to help, please contact Sophia Griffes – sophia_griffies@auduboncharter.com

Last week  at the Milan campus, the Montessori 5th graders indulged in a tasty treat with French teacher, L. Lechat.  They spent the day learning all about crêpes – from reading the recipe and assembling to ingredients to perfecting those French pancakes on a hot pan.

Students learned that crêpes are eaten all other France at this time of year in connection with Mardi Gras.

With a little help, this group of students should be able to cook for you next. They know all the tips and the right toppings for a good crêpe.

Bon appetit!
